ईरान के कुर्दिस्तान प्रांत की 22 साल की महसा अमीनी एक लंबा ओवरकोट पहनकर अपने परिवार के साथ तेहरान में घूम रही थी। परिवार जैसे ही शहीद हेगानी एक्सप्रेसवे पर पहुंचता है, मॉरैलिटी पुलिस आती है। मॉरैलिटी पुलिस अमीनी के ड्रेस को अभद्र बताते हुए, उसे हिरासत में ले लेती है। दावा करती है अमीनी ने हिजाब को सही तरीके से नहीं पहना था। इसके बाद अमीनी को वैन से डिटेंशन सेंटर ले जाया जाता है।
